Tafsir Compilation
The field of Tafasir (plural of Tafsir ) is a vast ocean of knowledge. Yusuf Ali elaborates: “ Quranic literature is so voluminous that no single man [person] can compass a perusal of the whole…."
This is a collation of Tafasir of the Holy Quran from renowned classical and modern commentators with a view to gaining a deeper insight and understanding of the messages of the Quran that ﷲ revealed for humanity. The main reason to study tafsir is to fully understand the message of the Quran, receive guidance from it for implementation.
In the Quran, Allah addressed believers, non-believers, agnostics, polytheists, people of the book, hypocrites and all other people. The themes of Makki Surahs included Oneness of ﷲ, resurrection and judgement. At Al-Madinah, Allah also addressed the Jews, who were familiar with Divine Books and Messengers, and the hypocrites who professed Islam outwardly but not in their hearts. The Madani Surahs dealt, among other things, with a growing Muslim community and the formation of the Ummah.
